Day 2 - Capri Island

Today we started our day in our hotel with a wonderful buffet breakfast.

It was really quite amazing. Mitch - a guy who never drinks coffee and has never had espresso - had 3 espresso's with breakfast. The waiter talked him into one. I had one too. And then he had 2 more because he said he didn't feel anything. I'm not sure he really ever did feel anything but I did think I noticed a little extra bounce in his step. :-)

After breakfast, we took a ferry over to Capri Island. We immediately got on another tour boat and took a cruise around the island. The water was bluer than any we've ever seen!! The picture doesn't really do it justice but you kind of get the idea.

We actually cruised right through this rock tunnel which was awesome.

There is a blue grotto you can see on the island but because of high tide and waves, we were not able to see it. This is where people go ashore to see it.

After the boat ride, we hired a taxi driver to take us around the island for 90 minutes and see some highlights. We only had 2 hours before we needed to catch the ferry back to Sorrento. It was a great tour and I'll pictures from that once I get home.

Tonight officially started our tour. We had dinner with the group. The four of us sat with a retired couple from Arizona and a couple from Australia which was lovely. During dinner, the sun was setting and I just snapped this quick shot.

Dinner got over at about 10 pm and we came out on the terrace to this view.

All in all, it was a great day! And tomorrow, the Amalfi Coast.

Till then... Ciao!
